Johnny Gargano loves NXT too much to see himself on the main roster at this time.
Gargano is one of the faces of NXT, having headlined all four TakeOver events this year. Some fans have been waiting for the day Gargano gets called up to the main roster. However, a large portion of the fanbase enjoys Gargano in NXT and would like to see him remain there for the foreseeable future. Count Gargano as one of those who prefer him in NXT.
Speaking to The Daily Star, Gargano discussed his love of NXT and not wanting to jump to the main roster just yet.
"Everyone?s dream ? and mine too ? is to wrestle at WrestleMania, but right now NXT is such a special place," he said. ?You have guys like me who have been wrestling around the world for ten years whose goal was to get here, and now we are all here tighter. We are focused on building something wrestling fans can be proud of, and we are building it together.?
Gargano continued, discussing the camaraderie he's built with his fellow NXT superstars.
?Here you are always in an environment surrounded by people who love what we do, so you never lose that passion. You walk in this building, you see the rings, you see the coaches and you just feel that energy as soon as you walk in. It is so special, and I would not trade it for anything in the world," said Gargano. "Everyone always talks to me about when I am going to the main roster, but I love NXT. And thats not a company answer, I genuinely love it and I very proud of it.?
Johnny Wrestling has been in NXT since 2015. He's a former NXT Tag Team Champion with Tommaso Ciampa as part of the beloved DIY tag team. Despite his tenure, Gargano has yet to win the NXT Title. At the last TakeOver special, he was defeated by Ciampa in a last man standing bout.
