Johnny Gargano comments on potentially having Candice LeRae get involved with #DIY.
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa had a lengthy run together in NXT, both as tag team partners and as rivals. Gargano's wife, Candice LeRae, was a key part of the storyline at different points. Years later, Gargano and Ciampa have reunited on the main roster, and LeRae is a member of WWE SmackDown's women's division as well.
In an interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa were asked about potentially bringing Candice LeRae back into the old with them.
Johnny Gargano: You never know. I was with Candice in NXT many times. [Ciampa] has had a run with her in NXT.
Tommaso Ciampa: Candice’s dream match, retirement match, Candice LeRae vs. Tommaso Ciampa at WrestleMania. Maybe WrestleMania 42 or 43.
JG: I don’t think that is real. It’s not real. That’s not her dream match.
TC: She told me.
JG: It’s not. Her dream match is actually me and her versus Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
TC: It’s not happening. It should still be me.
LeRae last wrestled on the July 5th episode of WWE SmackDown. It is not known when she will return to WWE programming.
Gargano and Ciampa are set to face The Street Profits in a Number One Contender's Match on the August 16th episode of WWE SmackDown.
