Johnny Gargano Returns To NXT, Secures North American Title Match At Stand & Deliver
Johnny Gargano versus Myles Borne.
There was a Gauntlet Eliminator match on the 3/24 NXT on The CW to determine who would challenge Myles Borne for the NXT North American Championship at Stand & Deliver on April 4th.
Shiloh Hill and Jackson Drake started the Gauntlet. Coming in at number three was Charlie Dempsey, and then Dion Lennox at number 4th. There was a mystery competitor advertised for the match, and coming out to the stage area was Candice LeRae to introduce her husband, Johnny Gargano.
LeRae was looking to help Gargano gain his confidence back, as he’s been in a slump on WWE television since Tommaso Ciampa left the company.
Gargano was attacked by Jackson Drake and then went right back to the position he’s been lying in when he’s seen on WWE TV.
O.T.M. (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) showed up and attacked Lennox, and Shiloh Hill followed up on that and eliminated Lennox. Hill went on to eliminate Drake and Dempsey. After the Dempsey elimination, Birthright (Uriah Connors, Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo & Charlie Dempsey) attacked Hill.
They tossed him back into the ring, and LeRae encouraged Gargano to get to his feet, but he was still out of it. She then pushed Gargano on top of Hill, and he got the three-count.
It is official that Gargano will be challenging Myles Borne for the North American Championship at Stand & Deliver. Below is the updated lineup for the show:
- NXT Tag Team Championship: Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) (c) vs. TBD
- Sol Ruca vs. ZARIA
- NXT North American Championship: Myles Borne (c) vs. Johnny Gargano (w/ Candice LeRae)
