Johnny Gargano is open to the idea of a mixed tag team match involving his wife Candice LeRae and the duo of Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
Previously, Gargano said in an interview with the Mirror that he would love to see Rollins back in NXT, but later in the interview, Gargano shifted his focus to both Rollins and his Lynch. Gargano said he would be up for a potential mixed tag team match between the two couples. The idea isn't foreign to Rollins and Lynch, who previously wrestled in a mixed tag team match at the 2019 edition of Extreme Rules.
"The main power couple in WWE? As far as track record goes, I'm sure Seth and Becky may have a strong hold on that title. I mean if Becky wants to come by then she can come and we can do Seth and Becky against me and Candice - we can make that happen. As far as power couples go, I did make the statement that NXT would be much better if me and Candice held the men's and women's NXT titles at the same time. So I think if that happens, that makes us the main power couple in not just NXT, but WWE," Gargano said.
Speaking of LeRae, Gargano spoke on intergender wrestling becoming a thing in NXT, Gargano said if it did come to NXT, then he's confident that LeRae would excel in it given her prior experience in that environment.
"If it does come back I got the best one in the world sitting in the other room. She (Candice LeRae) is as tough as they come. If it does come back I'm set and everyone else is screwed. I've seen what she can do. We have all seen what she can do," Gargano said.
Gargano and LeRae can be seen on NXT, which airs on the USA Network every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
