Johnny Gargano Says He's Pitched A Buddy Cop Movie With Samoa Joe

Since Samoa Joe returned on the June 15 episode of NXT, he's helped control the chaos on the gold brand.

Joe, playing a no-nonsense badass as the assistant to NXT GM William Regal, has interacted with many NXT stars since his return. While some have been defiant and others have returned Joe's icy stare, there's also Johnny Gargano, who believes he and Joe are best friends.

"Whenever Samoa Joe is TV, I think it's must-see television," Gargano said on Busted Open Radio. "He has this presence about him, especially in his current role, it gives such a new dynamic to the show where he's able to go around and stop these fights and stop the chaos and be this big enforcer that everyone is scared of. Especially for me, my character, where I think Samoa Joe is my best friend. For me, going into this match I'm like 'Yeah, my big buddy Samoa Joe.' I pitched a buddy cop movie between me and Samoa Joe, which I think would be amazing. That's on the horn."

Gargano and Joe both at rough nights on Tuesday's NXT as Gargano was defeated by Karrion Kross in his NXT Championship match and Kross choked out Joe following the bout.
