Johnny Gargano Would Love More Raw And SmackDown Talent On NXT, Singles Out Cesaro

Over the past few weeks, WWE has made some big roster shifts with Shotzi Blackheart, Toni Storm, Finn Balor, and Tegan Nox moving to SmackDown while Mandy Rose joined NXT.

NXT is often looked at as developmental by fans, but the majority of the talent view NXT as the third brand.

Long-time NXT standout Johnny Gargano believes NXT is the third brand and he would like to see more Raw and SmackDown talent head to the gold brand.

"I would love [for NXT to bring in more main roster talent]. NXT works best -- I think NXT is the third brand and you should be able to send guys from NXT to Raw and SmackDown and you should be able to send guys from Raw and SmackDown to NXT. You saw it with Finn Balor. [Bully Ray] brought up a guy like Cesaro. Trust me, we would love to have Cesaro. The dream matches you could get with Cesaro in NXT are amazing. There are a lot of guys that I would like to work with who I haven't had the chance to yet. Guys like AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan. I would love it if they would start sending guys to NXT. Johnny Gargano vs. Cesaro on a TakeOver would be pretty wild," Gargano said on Busted Open Radio.

Cesaro is no stranger to making cameo appearances in NXT, going to the brand in 2013 for a feud against Sami Zayn. He also competed against Zayn at NXT ArRIVAL in 2014.

Gargano had the chance to become the face of NXT once again on the July 13 episode of NXT, but was defeated by NXT Champion Karrion Kross. Kross made his WWE Raw debut on Monday, losing to Jeff Hardy.

Elsewhere during the interview, Gargano discussed how NXT can increase viewership through long-term stories. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
