Jon Moxley comments on the recent hair vs hair match between The Death Riders and Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy.
At the recent AEW Grand Slam: Australia event, Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta would take on Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy in a tag team match where the person who took the losing fall would be forced to shave their head. In the head, Yuta would eat the pinfall, resulting in having his head shaved.
While speaking to The Close Up with Renee Paquette, Jon Moxley spoke about the match and its aftermath, noting that he feels like Wheeler Yuta can take a victory away from the bout.
“You’re only as good as your word, and him and Marina and Tony and Orange, they really put it on the line. They took a big risk. You know, a lot of people would not want to risk the humiliation of being shaven in the middle of the ring on live TV, beamed across the entire world in an arena full of people. That takes guts. So I think it’s a big win for everybody. I think it shows Wheeler’s character, that he took the risk and he stepped up and he took it on the chin and every day he looks in the mirror, he can know that he took it on the chin and he stayed true to his word. I think that’s a victory.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Moxley spoke about his pride in the Death Riders. You can read more about that here.
