Jon Moxley Wins 2025 Continental Classic Tournament, Captures AEW Continental Championship At Worlds End PPV

Moxley emerges victorious from the tourney.

The 2025 AEW Continental Classic tournament wrapped up at the company’s Worlds End pay-per-view on December 27th. There were two semifinal matches and the final on the night.

In the first semifinal match, the Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada took on IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita. Okada used a screwdriver to defeat his stablemate in the Don Callis Family. Don Callis, who was seated at commentary, appeared as if he did not know Okada would use the screwdriver but told Okada ‘good job’ afterward.

The second semifinal match was Jon Moxley versus Kyle Fletcher. Fletcher, who is a member of the Don Callis Family, was looking for the screwdriver that Okada used, but Okada took it with him when he exited the ring. Moxley ended up choking Fletcher out to advance to the final. Post-match, Fletcher chop-blocked Moxley’s knee.

The final came down to Moxley versus the Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada. Moxley put Okada away with the Paradigm Shift to win the tournament and end Okada’s 648-day reign as AEW Continental Champion.

After the bout, Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, Wheeler Yuta & Daniel Garcia) joined the ring to celebrate. Moxley grabbed the microphone and said the Continental Classic belt belongs to all the wrestlers who participated in the tournament, and it belongs to the fans. He closed by saying there is no other wrestling organization like AEW.

Moxley has joined Okada and Eddie Kingston on the list of AEW Continental Champions.
