Jonathan Gresham And Davey Richards' Replacements Announced For PWG Battle Of Los Angeles 2022

Two new names have been added to PWG's Battle of Los Angeles.

On January 28, Jonathan Gresham hopped on Twitter and revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, he will be unable to compete at this weekend's BOLA tournament. The ROH Champion also missed last weekend's The WRLD On GCW show for what we now know to be the same reason.

Additionally, Davey Richards, Gresham's first-round opponent is also unable to compete. Thus, PWG has announced that Wheeler Yuta and Blake Christian would be taking their spots and facing off in the opening round.

Christian recently defeated Lio Rush at The WRLD On GCW, while Yuta has been a fixture on AEW programming as a member of Best Friends.

PWG recently announced the full card for night one of the Battle of Los Angeles Tournament:

  • Bandido vs. "Speedball" Mike Bailey
  • JONAH vs. Buddy Matthews
  • Blake Christian vs. Wheeler Yuta
  • JD Drake vs. Black Taurus
  • Lee Moriarty vs. Alex Shelley
  • Jack Cartwheel vs. Lio Rush
  • Kevin Blackwood vs. Daniel Garcia
  • Aramis vs. Rey Horus

Battle of Los Angeles is the premier independent wrestling tournament with past victors including Kenny Omega, El Generico (Sami Zayn), Adam Cole, Ricochet, and Bandido, an entrant in this year's tournament, among others.

Fightful will have results from BOLA following the conclusion of each event.
