Josh Alexander explains why he wasn't signed by AEW upon the promotions inception.
Earlier this year, Josh Alexander would make his All Elite Wrestling debut as a member of the companies roster during a bout with Hangman Page in the opening round of the 2025 Owen Hart foundation tournament. However, Alexander had previously looked to be signed by the company in 2019.
While speaking on this week's episode of Hey! (EW), RJ City asked Alexander about trying to be signed by AEW in 2019, with Alexander explaining why the company decided against signing him at the time.
"Because I hadn't built my name up enough, I was a guy in the indies."
RJ would then ask if Josh had got better or had AEW gotten better, with Josh pointing out it was a little of both.
"I definitely got better. This place got better too, but I caught up."
You can check out Alexander's full appearance on Hey! (EW) above.
