Josh Alexander Hopes AEW Dynamite Match Leads To Singles Bout With Kenny Omega

Josh Alexander wants to wrestle Kenny Omega in a singles match. He hopes that being on opposite ends of a tag match on the September 3 episode of AEW Dynamite will lead to more between them.

Josh Alexander and Kenny Omega are two of Canada’s top professional wrestlers currently active. Alexander and Omega will be on opposite ends of an 8-Man Tag Team Match on the September 3 episode of AEW Dynamite. Alexander will team with his Don Callis Family stablemate, Kyle Fletcher, and the Young Bucks, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson. They will face Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, and the JetSpeed duo of Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight.

Alexander previewed this match at an interview with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed. When discussing the possibility of wrestling Omega, he would say that Omega has been the top name on his bucket list for 10 years, and he hopes that the match taking place on Dynamite will lead to much more.

“Kenny Omega is number one on my bucket list, and he has been for the past decade,” said Alexander. “I’ve looked up to him for so long, and I have so much respect for him. He earned that top spot. That’s what I’m vying for. I’ll get to step in the ring with him on Dynamite, and hopefully that snowballs into something even more. That’s my dream match.”

AEW will host AEW All Out in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event is scheduled to take place at the ScotiaBank Arena on September 20. Alexander is hopeful he can wrestle in that arena, but for now, he says he’s focusing on the things he can control.

“To wrestle at ScotiaBank Arena would be something I’d never forget,” said Alexander. “But I’m focusing on controlling what I can control, and that goes back to putting in the work every day.”

AEW All Out will be the first AEW pay-per-view broadcast on HBO Max. Learn more about that here.
