Josh Briggs Def. Matt Cardona On 10/14 WWE NXT

Cardona’s first WWE bout in five years.

The October 14th episode of WWE NXT saw Josh Briggs go one-on-one with Matt Cardona. It was Cardona, the former Zack Ryder’s first match under the WWE banner since 2020. He was released from the company that year.

Their match came about when Cardona factored into Briggs not qualifying for the men’s Team NXT team at NXT vs. TNA Showdown. Briggs wanted a match against Cardona and got it.

In the bout, Briggs ended up pinning Cardona to secure the win.
