Despite the fact that Fight Forever features fun gameplay, some fans have criticized the game's 'Road To Elite' story mode for being bare and repetitive.

In a new interview with Cultaholic, Justin Leeper, who was the Narrative Designer for the game, was asked if there was any talks among developers to expand on the Road To Elite mode in a future update.

“No, we haven’t really gone into that but truth told, I’m in a different role at a different company right now. I would definitely be willing to investigate how we can expand on Road To Elite because again, it’s not a wide mode but it’s a tall mode and if we could widen it a little bit, that'd be great. If we could find some way to do DLC, that would be really neat. Even [to] get some of the characters involved to do their own bespoke, I think that would be really neat but again I’m not in the know on that stuff.”
