Kali Armstrong: Road Dogg Gave Me His Blessing For My Ring Name
Kali Armstrong came up with her ring name easily.
Armstrong, real name Destinee Brown, is seemingly on the verge of taking over the world of women’s wrestling despite only having 50~ish matches under her belt as of publish time.
Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Kali Armstrong revealed how she came up with her ring name.
“Yeah, it definitely is. One, I’m from California, so that’s where Kali came from, just with a little pizzazz, and Armstrong is actually my dad’s side of the family’s maiden name. So I figured he’d be super ecstatic if I carried that name. I wasn’t sure if I could get it because obviously there’s some wrestling legends with the last name, but they blessed me to allow me to have the name. Now we’re cousins, distant cousins from my cousin’s sister, brother, uncle side, but we cousins. So yeah, that’s what it is. Cali is from California and Armstrong is my dad’s side of the family’s maiden name.”
