On the weekend of AEW All Out last month, it was announced by AEW that PAC had tragically passed away, with tributes pouring in from around the wrestling world.
While speaking to TMZ’s Inside The Ring in a new interview, Kalisto reflected on working with PAC while paying tribute to him.
“Man, Ben, it’s just surreal. I was just thinking about it this morning still. Yeah, he’s really, he kept to himself, but also too funny. Awesome to work with, man. I wish I could have worked with him more. I remember my first match with him, because I’ve always wanted to work with him, with Ben, man, just seeing his Dragongate, like videos and stuff. Like he’s one of the other wrestlers that inspired me to like, to do the style that I try to do also to, you know, um, his style was unique. It was awesome. It’s just flow like art. First time I worked with him was at the, I believe it was at the Arnold Classic, was just, it was non-televised. It was in front of the people, 8 a.m. I’m tired, but man, we were killing it, and I just thought we were just having such a great match. The second time I worked with him was on SmackDown for the US title which man we could have done more. We know we could have done more. I would have loved to done more, but, I’m just super grateful to be in the ring with him and just share the locker room with him and such a sweetheart. What everybody’s saying is this, it’s very true. It’s very, very, very true. It was hard, man. It’s, so I looked up to him a lot too.”
PAC’s wife recently released a statement following his passing. You can read more about that here.
