In the aftermath of the shooting, Chiefs offensive lineman Trey Smith shared a WWE Championship with a young boy to help calm him.

“I was thinking, what can I do to help him out?” Smith said in an interview Thursday on Good Morning America (via WKYV). “I just handed him the belt: 'Hey buddy, you're the champion. No one's going to hurt you, man. We've got your back.'”

Smith talked to the boy about wrestling to help take his mind off what just occurred.

21 people were wounded and one person was killed in the shooting. Three people were detained and firearms were recovered.

Chiefs long snapper James Winchester and coach Andy Reid also comforted those on the scene.

Travis Kelce was seen sporting a WWE Championship during the parade.
