Karmen Petrovic says she didn’t expect to have creative freedom with her character and gear in WWE, believing that was the creative team.

Over the past several years, the creative freedom for WWE superstars has somewhat shifted, as previously Vince McMahon would be the be all end all of creative in the company, talent has been given more freedom since his exit from the company. For one NXT superstar, creative freedom was something she didn’t expect to have in WWE.

While speaking to the Battleground podcast in a new interview, Karmen Petrovic spoke about not expecting to have creative freedom in WWE.

“I feel like I thought that the characters, like the gear that the women wear, storylines and stuff like that, I definitely thought that that was something that was so specific to like the creative team and something that you didn’t really have control over, and then coming into the WWE, just understanding like you can present yourself as you want and also like what you wear, like how you come off on social media. Obviously, some storylines you can’t have (the) full reigns on, but we definitely do have the ability to pitch ideas, come up with things for ourselves, also for other people. So I think just having that kind of freedom is incredible.”
