In the closing segment of the June 20th episode of Lucha Libre AAA on FOX, El Grande Americano ended up being jumped by the reformed Perros del Mal (Daga, Karmen Petrovic, Bronco Nima, Berto & Angel), with the faction sending a statement using the fan favorite in Mexico.
While speaking to The Dallas Morning News in a new interview, Karmen Petrovic would be asked about the reformation of Perros Del Mal.
“Incredible. That’s something that we felt like was a lot of weight on our shoulders, because either it was going to work or it wasn’t going to work. Of course, with Perros del Mal, the legacy that comes behind it and everything that the previous members of the faction have built, is something that we just want to uphold and only make better from here on out. So knowing that and then also knowing how incredible El Grande has been received by the Mexican crowd and in AAA, watching that backstage, you know, him walk out, cut his promo, there’s kids crying in the audience, like everyone’s reaching out to him, and I’m just like, ‘Damn, I’m gonna have to kick him in the head for real. For real, for real. 100%.'”
Karmen continued, noting that after the segment, The Undertaker was backstage applauding.
“Walking out, too — the crowd reaction to even just me walking out there, I felt it echo in my chest. I’ve never been in front of a Mexican crowd before, let alone an arena like that. So, it truly was indescribable. I felt like I blacked out. I didn’t even remember what happened until I came backstage, and then I was like, ‘Oh my god, I can’t feel my arms. What’s going on right now?’ But we came back, and Undertaker was applauding it. He was really happy with it. The fans loved it. We had over 15 million views within the first 24 hours over WWE and AAA platforms. So, it was great. Just something that I feel like I am going to yearn for that feeling forever.”
When asked what the faction wants, Karmen noted that they wanted to make a statement.
“Always to make a statement. Whenever we show up on TV, whether it’s on NXT Heatwave, whether it’s in AAA, or wherever we go, it’s always make a statement, make ourselves known, and continue creating the legacy.”
Following the faction reforming, Taya Valkyrie would comment. You can read more about that here.
