Karrion Kross: Fans Who Focus On Ratings Are Just As Important As Fans Who Don’t Pay Attention To It

One thing that has emerged from AEW's arrival is an ongoing debate across social media regarding the ratings and viewership for both NXT and AEW.

The non-stop debate has made its way to AEW programming with Chris Jericho cutting promos on demos and calling himself the Demo God. NXT star Karrion Kross was asked about the fan discussion by Pro Wrestling Sheet and said all types of fans are important and that the people focusing on ratings are just as important as those who don't.

"Not at all because they can be or do however they want. To me, those people are just as important as the people who don?t pay attention to it. Fans are fans. I don?t really categorize which fan is more important than the other, because that is an equation to go completely psychotic. There are people online that are in our industry that spend way too much time and energy on that type of stuff. Where my energy goes is trying to make sure that the time that I am given to be seen on television I get the most out of," Kross said.

Kross added that he's not allowing himself to focus his energy on ratings talk and demographic supremacy, electing to work on his craft.

"I know all of that stuff is important, but it doesn?t necessarily have to be THAT important to me. In the priorities of what?s important to me, making sure that my segments are as entertaining and sincere as possible is where all of my energy goes. I?ll hear about those things on the backend. There are people that have jobs in this company where it?s their occupation to be consumed and concerned with measuring those things. It?s not mine. So I just don?t allow my energy to go there. I save it for the fans," Kross said.

Kross is scheduled to face off against Dominik Dijakovic on the July 22 episode of NXT. The full interview can be seen at this link.
