Two of NXT's top stars have booked themselves a segment at Great American Bash.
Tensions have been building between Karrion Kross and Johnny Gargano, as the leader of The Way believes the brand is in need of a new champion. On the June 29 episode of NXT, the men brawled on three occasions; once backstage, later in the ring, and then again in the parking lot. The final time saw Kross choke out Gargano and nearly run him over with his car. Johnny, however, was saved by Samoa Joe.
On Saturday, June 3rd, Gargano shared the following message on Twitter:
"Last week Kross tried to hit me with a car... You think I was just going to let that go? I'll be at the Great American Bash. No tricks, no games, no smoke and mirrors. Meet me face to face. I'm going to smack the taste outta your mouth."
Kross responded in turn, telling Gargano to leave his family at home and meet him at the Great American Bash.
"Mr. Gargano, it's time to cool off that mouth of yours," said Kross. "I would think of you more like the bugs that crawl in and out of dog crap than an actual physical threat to me. So here's what we're going to do; you leave your family at home, as will I, and you meet me at the Great American Bash. It's that simple. Tick tock."
Samoa Joe caught the interaction and confirmed he would be at the Great American Bash to make sure things don’t get out of hand from this meeting.
I believe the young Champion is correct. It is “simple”, and I will be at the Great American Bash maintain said “simplicity”. https://t.co/WrckPlIYu1— Samoa Joe (@SamoaJoe) July 3, 2021
