Kay Lee Ray has confirmed that her WWE contract expired and she was not released from the company earlier this Summer.

In late April, KLR would be part of a large group of WWE departures that included releases from active contracts. However, with her recent appearance at Pro Wrestling EVE inside a 90 day window from her exit, fans speculated if this meant her contract had come up rather than being released from her deal.

While speaking to the Daily Star in a new interview, Kay Lee Ray confirmed that her WWE contract expired earlier this Summer, leading to her exit from the company.

“For me, it happens. There seems to be a pattern with this. My contract was up, and I knew it was coming up, and I had the decision of whether I wanted to stay or not. I know some other people got fired, and they have the 90 days clause, but because of that, cause mine was just a contract ending. It means I didn’t have the 90 days and I was able to come and do this and do it as like kind of surprise, but it wasn’t really a surprise. But yeah, really glad it worked out this way.”
