Kazuchika Okada Def. Hiroshi Tanahashi In Tanahashi’s Retirement Match At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20

Tanahashi’s last-ever match.
Closing out NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 at a sold-out Tokyo Dome was Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement match, and he faced longtime rival and current AEW talent Kazuchika Okada.
Gedo accompanied Okada to the ring as Okada sported his AEW International Championship. Joining Chris Charlton and Walker Stewart on commentary was Rocky Romero.
During the match, Tanahashi channeled Shinsuke Nakamura and did Nakamura’s signature wind-up and capped it off with a Kinshasa (Bomaye) to Okada. Okada kicked out at two. Okada did a modified Destino to Tanahashi and did Tetsuya Naito’s signature fist taunt.
The final sequence of the match saw Okada do his signature Rainmaker pose, and then he put Tanahashi down with a Rainmaker for the win. Before leaving the ring, Okada told Tanahashi thank you.
Hiroshi Tanahashi’s 26-year pro wrestling career has come to a close.
