The finals are set.
Tetsuya Naito and Kazuchika Okada will meet in the finals of the NJPW G1 Climax 33 tournament. The bout will take place on August 13.
In semifinal action on August 12, Okada defeated EVIL with the Rainmaker in the co-main event. The main event saw Naito best Will Ospreay with Destino.
Okada finished on top of B Block with a 6-1 record while Naito topped D Block, going 5-2. Okada defeated Zack Sabre Jr in the quarterfinals as Naito knocked off Hikuleo in quarterfinal action.
This marks the third straight year Okada has made the G1 Climax finals. He has won the tournament the last two years. He has never lost in the G1 Finals.
This is the first time since 2017 that Naito has made the finals. He won the tournament that year, defeating Kenny Omega in the finals.
