At AEW Dynasty, Kazuchika Okada defended the AEW Continental Championship against PAC. This marked Okada's first defense of the title since he won it by beating Eddie Kingston on the March 20 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Okada and PAC battled it out in a hard-fought match, and PAC showcased his high-flying offense throughout the bout. Okada punished PAC early and often, as he drilled him with a DDT on the floor. At one point, Okada teased going for the Rainmaker but instead flipped off the crowd.

PAC and Okada kept going back and forth. "The Bastard" showed his remarkable strength with a deadlift German suplex. He set Okada up for the Broken Arrow, but Okada grabbed onto the referee, which delayed the attempt. When PAC went for it again, Okada got his knees up, so PAC landed hard. Okada then hit the Rainmaker to clinch the victory and his first successful defense.

After the match, the crowd gave PAC an ovation and chanted, "He's our bastard."
