At Pro Wrestling NOAH Destination 2021: Back To Budokan, Mutoh captured the GHC Heavyweight Championship, defeating Go Shiozaki in the main event.

Mutoh won the bout after catching Shiozaki with a hurricana.

Mutoh, 58, is known to many wrestling fans as The Great Muta. He is just the third man in history to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship (NJPW), Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship (AJPW), and GHC Heavyweight Championship (NOAH).

Shiozaki's reign lasted 405 days.

After the bout, Kaito Kiyomiya came out to challenge Mutoh, who simply walked away.
