Kenny King Discusses His Partnership With Rhett Titus

Kenny King and Rhett Titus might be former ROH Tag Team Champions as the All Night Express, but the partnership between the two men didn't get off to the best of starts.

Speaking on ROH Strong, King discussed first meeting Rhett and the bad impression that was made.

Grayson Waller Explains Why Teaming With Austin Theory Has Been Beneficial

"My second ROH match ever [ROH Man Up], before the show, I think Rhett was warming up and I didn't know Rhett, I thought he was just a green boy or someone who was just getting started. I didn't know he was a top prospect. I heard Gabe [Sapolsky] saying, 'Okay, Rhett, getting warmed up.' I don't know why I said it, I think I was just a cocky asshole, but I was like, 'That's cool, if you've got to do push-ups to look big before your match.' Clearly, that didn't sit well. Later in the match, I missed a springboard and they started chanting 'FIP' at me, like 'Go back to FIP.' Rhett is sitting ringside and as soon as I tripped, he jumped up like 'YES!'"

He continued, "I was set to team with Kenny Omega, but I walked out on Omega against The Briscoes, leading to a team with me and Rhett. Rhett was wearing bowties and doing 'addicted to love' and I said to Adam Pearce, 'You want me to team with this guy?!?' Rhett said the same thing."

Despite their differences off-screen, King and Titus were able to put that aside and build chemistry inside the ring and out. They would win the ROH Tag Team Titles in June 2012, but had to vacate the belts less than a month later as King went through a contract dispute with ROH.
