Kenny Omega doesn't recognize his old self.
On July 2, 2017, Kenny Omega faced off with and defeated Tomohiro Ishii at a NJPW G1 Special event in Long Beach, California. Notably, this bout was the final match of the IWGP United States Championship tournament, making Omega the first champion.
Eight years later, Kenny Omega took to social media to reflect on the viral clip of the match, saying that he doesn't recognize himself in the video. Omega also lifted up Ishii, saying he is still the same guy.
I don’t even recognize this guy. And I don’t mean Ishii. He’s the same. What a guy. https://t.co/yhhkdEBtsx

Omega later edited the post and talked about his speed, agility, and never say die attitude before joking that he was actually referring to Red Shoes.
The speed. The agility. That never say die attitude… Yeah, Red Shoes really is something, ain’t he?

Omega's first reign with the IWGP United States Championship lasted 210 days before he dropped it to Jay White. A few years later, Omega had a second reign with the title, winning it from Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom 17 and holding it until Forbidden Door, where he dropped it back to 'The Aerial Assassin.
