Kenny Omega Retains IMPACT World Title; Don Callis 'Fires' Sami Callihan At IMPACT Against All Odds

Kenny Omega retained his IMPACT World Championship at Against All Odds.

The Belt Collector faced Moose at AEW's home base of Daily's Place in Jacksonville, and received a helping hand from his friends, The Young Bucks. After dodging a Moose spear attempt by using the referee as a shield, Matt and Nick Jackson came out and delivered a trio of superkicks along with a BTE Trigger. They then helped Moose onto Omega's shoulders so that he could hit the one winged angel for the pin and win.

As they celebrated, the lights went out and Sami Callihan appeared. He, along with Tommy Dreamer, defeated The Good Brothers earlier in the show and made his presence felt here as the next challenger to Omega's title. He beat down The Elite members with a baseball bat and then as he was about to hurt Omega with a chair, Don Callis intervened. He berated Sami and told him that he was fired from IMPACT.

Scott D'Amore who already called the ending "bullshit," argued with Callis as the show went off the air.

Omega initially won the belt from Rich Swann at Rebellion. He was scheduled to defend it next versus Callihan at IMPACT Slammiversary on July 17.
