Kenny Omega Says He's 'Stepping Away From Japan,' Talks Future

Kenny Omega faced Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Title in the main event of New Japan's Wrestle Kingdom. He lost, but the match is considered to be one of the greatest ever. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer gave it six stars. Out of five.

After the event, Omega tweeted:

Mina Shirakawa: I Have To Stand Out In A New Japan Ring More Than Mercedes Mone. That's My Mission

Now, two days later, Omega, who had a Terminator-themed entrance (part of which you can watch at the top of the page), tweets this image and this statement:

For those of you who don't know, the image is from the end of Terminator 2, when the cyborg hero of the film, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, lowers himself into a vat of molten steel to save the future from certain annihilation.

It is generally considered to be one of the most "bad-ass" exits in cinema history.

Is that what Omega is doing here? Announcing his exit from New Japan for good? Not so fast, he says:

So while he may leave New Japan and move on elsewhere, this may just be a small hiatus.

We will keep you updated if anything new should develop.
