Kenny Omega Was ‘Furious’ With The Closing Moments Of AEW Revolution 2021

Kenny Omega was not happy with the way AEW Revelation went off the air.

AEW Revolution 2021 was headlined by the first Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch presented by a major North American promotion. The match itself had its fair share of blood, barbed wire, and explosions but it was the aftermath and the dud explosion at the end that the audience was left talking about.

Closing out the show, Eddie Kingston ran to the ring to save his friend and former rival, Jon Moxley from what was supposed to be a massive explosion that turned out to be little more than pyro going off around the ring. Almost instantly, the memes and criticisms began to roll in from fans all across the world and the promotion would pivot and decide to run with the narrative that Kenny Omega, the villain in the story, wasn't actually able to build a proper exploding ring.

Jon Moxley would cut a live promo to the audience after the event went off the air saying that Kenny Omega, as tough as he may be, cannot build an exploding ring “worth a shit.” Tony Khan would echo these statements in a media scrum following the event as well as his latest paid advertisement segment on IMPACT Wrestling.

Following Wrestling Observer Radio's report that Kenny Omega was "furious" with the finish of AEW Revolution, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp independently confirmed as such.

In storyline, fans can expect to hear from Eddie Kingston regarding why he chose to save Jon Moxley after a bitter feud over the AEW World Championship during the autumn of 2020.

As for Kenny Omega, he will continue to attempt to make wrestling history as he was just announced for a Title vs. Title match in the main event of IMPACT Rebellion this coming April. Learn more about that here.
