Kevin Kiley Details How Match At NWA Nuff Said Came Together

Kevin Kiley discusses his return to the ring.

Kiley, formerly known as Alex Riley, worked for WWE for several years. He signed with the company in 2007 and moved to the main roster in 2010 after he was featured on the second season of NXT. Kiley was paired with The Miz until they eventually split up and feuded. He later shifted into a commentary role before he returned to the ring in 2015. WWE then released Kiley in 2016. Kiley was then absent from the wrestling world until he returned to the ring at Create A Pro Wrestling's toy drive event on December 8. There, he teamed up with NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus to defeat VBU (Dante Drago & Jack Tomlinson). Kiley will compete in his first singles match in over six years when he faces EC3 at NWA Nuff Said on February 11.

Speaking with Jim Varsallone of Miami Herald, Kiley was asked to describe how the match came together. He noted that the opportunity came out of nowhere, and it stemmed from the FOX podcast he does alongside Tyrus. Kiley described how he's good friends with Tyrus, and the chance to work with the NWA came through that.

"I do a podcast for FOX called 'Tyrus and the Wise Men'. I’ve been doing that for seven or eight months. I started in the business with Tyrus, and I was on the road with him for a very long time. We share some stories, and we’re good friends, so it just kind of came through that. It was an opportunity that was brought to me through that and through the relationships that I had with those guys. They’ve really been kind to me, I love them, and I want to go give it my best shot for them," Kiley said.

Kiley noted that he doesn't know what the company has planned for him after the Nuff Said pay-per-view. He emphasized that he not looking past the event, as he's determined to make the most of the opportunity that he has been given. He stated that he is focusing his energy and his thought process on the show.

"At this point, for me, I’m staying focused on the pay-per-view. That’s it. I’m setting all of my energy, all of my intention… I’m setting my entire visions and my entire thought process on the 11th and on Nuff Said," Kiley said.
