Kevin Knight: Don Callis Is The Bill Belichick Of Pro Wrestling

Kevin Knight continues to defend his partnership with Don Callis.
Some fans were disappointed when Knight aligned with Callis earlier this year. ‘The Jet’ put most of those doubts to bed over the summer, where he continued his TNT Championship reign and shared a pay-per-view main event with Kenny Omega.
Speaking with The Tap Out Tea for a new interview, Knight said that Callis is like the Bill Belichick or the Nick Sabin of professional wrestling.
“Honestly, I think Don Callis was looking at me since day one, since I got to AEW. You can go back to one of my first few matches, he came up to me and Speedball offering a spot. We turned them down because we wanted to do things in our own. But, as we see the landscape of pro wrestling at AEW, the GOATs all go through the Don Callis Family. We’ve seen them take Okada to the highest heights, Kenny Omega, Ospreay as much as he tries to deny it. Kyle Fletcher, you saw his rise all through last year. Now, you see this year, I’ve had my rise. Once I won the TNT title, I had dreams of being Jet Two Belts and getting that AEW World Championship so I invested in myself to get some protection. Don Callis, he knows how to get you to the promised land. He’s like Nick Sabin, he’s like Phil Jackson, he’s the Bill Belichick of pro wrestling. He’s going to draw the plan and get you where you need to go.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Knight talked about his current partnership with Kyle Fletcher. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
