Kevin Nash Says He Wasn’t Allowed To Respond To CM Punk’s ‘Thought He Was Dead’ Line
In 2011, Kevin Nash returned to WWE at SummerSlam, attacking new WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, allowing Alberto Del Rio to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the title.
Though Nash would continue to attack Punk in the ensuing weeks, the two never had a match. Instead, Nash transitioned into a feud with Triple H, which culminated in a ladder match.
Over the years, Nash has given his thoughts, praises and critiques of Punk on his Kliq This podcast.
His recent thoughts had him commenting on Punk wearing a t-shirt while wrestling on WWE Raw.
While continuing to comment on Punk wearing a shirt, Nash gave some insight into his 2011 feud with Punk.
“This is the thing that kills me. 14 years ago, I’m 50-something years old when I come back. He gives me the whole bullshit about, ‘lol, thought you were dead.’ I’m not allowed to comment back because I’ve been told by Vince (McMahon) that I’m not allowed to cut a promo. How old is Phil now, 48? He’s already fallen victim to the indie t-shirt,” said Nash.
Nash did respond to Punk on screen, calling him a Waffle House short order cook and telling him to “take a shower, hit the weights, and get a clue.”
Elsewhere during the interview, Nash circled back to Punk going to the gym. You can find his full comments here.
