Kevin Nash: You’re Supposed To Go To The Ring And Leave In The Same Shape. If You’re In A Neck Board, You Have Failed

Kevin Nash weighs in on dangerous bumps.

On December 28, William Regal took to social media to implore wrestlers to stop taking dangerous neck bumps.

The post came after AEW Worlds End, where there was criticism over Kyle Fletcher being dropped on his head from a top rope half nelson suplex by Jon Moxley. Regal never referenced the spot, but he did warn of the dangers of being dropped on your head too often.

Speaking on Kliq This, Kevin Nash was asked about Regal’s comments.

“The beauty of this business is that it’s supposed to be a fucking work. You’re supposed to go to the ring, and when you leave the ring 17 minutes later, you’re supposed to be in the exact same shape. That’s the art of it. If you’re in a neck board with the medics around you, you have failed,” he said.

Nash continued, “If it’s a spot that you’re both on the top rope and it takes you guys 11 minutes to (set up). Really? That’s like having a premonition that you’re going to get in an auto wreck in a half hour, you leave the house, you go back in the house, put yours keys on the table and watch TV. 11 minutes you’re on the top turnbuckle and you’re expecting at some point to get a response. They respond, ‘Jesus, about fucking time.’ I see some of this shit where they just throw each other on their heads.

“Thank God I was big, but you weren’t going to just do shit to me. Fuck that. I ain’t doing that. No reason to. ‘How am I going to get you off your feet?’ Throw a working punch, I’ll fly back.”

Kenny Omega responded to Regal’s comments, saying it was a positive message. You can read Omega’s response here.
