Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn bicker and share their plan for their title reign.
Owens and Zayn defeated The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 39. The duo has argued at times since then, and while they were selected by Raw in the WWE Draft, the change in brands has not removed this underlying tension. On the May 8 episode of WWE Raw, Owens and Zayn defeated Imperium (Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser), but they had a disagreement after the match.
In a WWE Digital Exclusive, the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions argued after Owens pulled up a chair during an interview. Zayn was visibly upset, and he expressed his frustration.
Kevin Owens: What are you doing?
Sami Zayn: what kind of behavior is that? We’re in the middle of an interview.
KO: I’m tired.
SZ: It doesn’t… can you wait two minutes?
KO: The guy was walking by with a chair, and it looked appealing.
SZ: I was in Backlash, I’ve had a rough schedule. I can stand for two… anyways, okay.
KO: You’re holding yourself against the [road] cases. It’s the same thing. You’re holding yourself up. What are you complaining about? I can’t do what you’re doing.
Zayn restarted the interview and tried to answer the original question. Owens shared his answer, which was that the duo plans to win every match in order to retain the titles. Zayn and Owens then continued to argue.
SZ: What was your question? How do we plan on retaining the titles?
KO: We’re gonna win every match we’re in.
SZ: Actually, that kind of is the long and short of it. He’s right.
KO: Do you feel bad for chastising me?
SZ. I still think it was inappropriate behavior.
KO: The guy gets a chair, gets chastised.
SZ: If I got the chair, I’d never hear the end of it.
Owens then got up and claimed that Zayn wanted the chair. However, he didn't give it to him. As a result, both men were uncomfortable as Owens asked Zayn whether he had any other pieces of wisdom.
KO: Now both of us are uncomfortable. Do you have any other pieces of wisdom? I just said we’re gonna win every match. That’s how you retain the titles. What else you got?
SZ: I think we’re good here.
KO: Do you see what you did? I was just trying to sit. Then you took us in a direction…
SZ: I took us… after you walked off.
As the interview ended, Owens walked away with Cathy Kelley, and Zayn said everything was fine.
