Kevin Owens was noticeably absent from WWE Raw this past week and for a good reason.
On June 17, Fightful Select reported Owens did not attend the WWE Raw tapings following the announcement that a second talent had tested positive for COVID-19. Fightful Select reported that there was no heat on Owens and the company respected his decision.
Appearing on Wednesday's episode of The Bump, Owens confirmed the story.
"I'm great, I've always been great," he replied when asked how he was doing after missing Monday's show. "Due to the circumstances that happened over the last week with the positive coronavirus test in the company, I thought it was wiser for me to stay with my family. I told the people in charge my decision and they didn't even flinch. There was no pushback because, I don't think they pushback on anybody, but they know once I make my mind up on something, it's just the way it's going to be and they are respectful of my decision. I'm glad I took it because it was the best thing to do for my family."
WWE announced on Monday, June 15, that a developmental talent had tested positive for COVID-19, marking the second positive test in the company. The following day, all talent and staff were tested. No other positive tests have been reported.
It is unknown when Owens will return to television.
