Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens had their final face-to-face on the August 30th episode of WWE SmackDown ahead of their Undisputed WWE Championship bout at WWE Bash in Berlin.
Early during the confrontation, Owens mentioned that Cody was favoring his knee coming off the recent WWE European tour. Cody dismissed Owens' comments, and then brought up their history, saying that the revolution that is happening, he feels Owens doesn't get enough credit for it.
Owens once again brought up Cody's knee, saying that if Cody isn't 100%, he doesn't want to face him. Cody believed that Owens still didn't want the match against him. Owens said that eight years ago he won the WWE Universal Championship, but all anyone talked about was how Triple H helped him.
Cody mentioned his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38, and how Kevin had to share his main event match against Steve Austin with Cody's return. Cody said that he couldn't take everyone with him on his way to the top, but that he loves Kevin. He then asked if he and Kevin would be friends after WWE Bash in Berlin.
Kevin whispered something to Cody before walking off.
