Kevin Owens Says He's Battling An Ankle Injury, X-Rays Needed To Determine Severity

Kevin Owens laid it all on the line at WrestleMania 36 and now he is feeling the effects.

Kevin Owens has not been seen on WWE television since the night after WrestleMania 36 where he was featured in a vignette saying that he wanted to return to his roots as a prizefighter.

A new interview with RDS in Quebec reveals that Kevin is battling an ankle injury, the severity of which will be revealed through x-rays. The match at WrestleMania would see Kevin dive from the Wrestlemania sign on to Seth Rollins who was laying flat on the announcers’ table.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer notes that Owens is only expected to be out for a couple of weeks.

Also, in the interview, Kevin Owens discusses the current state of WWE during the Coronavirus pandemic. Kevin says that it is special for WWE to be deemed essential as they provide an escape from reality for many. However, Kevin also says that WWE is not mandating any talent to work the tapings and he has elected to stay home with his family.

As for Kevin Owens' WrestleMania opponent, Seth Rollins is currently eyeing a prize of his own as he looks to take the WWE Championship away from Drew McIntyre at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on May 10.

Fightful has reached out to Kevin for comment on his status and will update the story as soon as an update is made available.
