Kevin Owens Says Vince McMahon Changed His Mind On Him Returning To NXT For An Extended Run

Kevin Owens made a surprise appearance at NXT WarGames in 2019, joining Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee, and Dominik Dijakovic against The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, and Roderick Strong).

Owens previously said that he had plans to go back to NXT and even have a run in NXT UK.

Plans changed.

"Before I did the War Games return, there were concrete plans for me to go back to NXT for an extended period before coming back to the main roster,” Owens said. “At the time Paul Heyman was in charge on RAW and those were just plans we had and Vince [McMahon] had signed off on all of them and, eventually, he changed his mind and nothing happened. That’s all it comes down to – what he says goes. It wasn’t something I had just floated about, it was a plan that was going to happen and they just went in a different direction," Owens told Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT.

Owens is currently part of WWE Raw and will be on the Raw men's team at Survivor Series.

On Monday's Raw, Owens tried to make good and apologize for his previous tactics but ultimately took out his aggression on WWE Champion Big E.
