Kevin Owens: The Impact That Amazing Red Had On The Current Crop Of Top Talent Is Hard To Measure

Kevin Owens has high praise for Amazing Red.
Over the weekend, Vintage Puroresu went viral on social media after sharing clips from Amazing Red’s matches in 2001, when he was working for top indie promotions like CZW, MCW, PWF, and JCW. In the comment section, fans chimed in with their own praise.
On Monday, Kevin Owens gave his own take on the video, saying that Amazing Red’s impact on the current crop of top stars is hard to measure. Owens also called Red a “special talent” after reminiscing on the days where he’d would watch his highlight reels.
The Amazing Red / 2001. Some of the hardest stuff ever seen in the US. The mainstream wrestling wars were over, but the underground was about to reinvent the sport from the ashes. Not just an evolution of existing styles, but a whole new scene & philosophy. 🌟 pic.twitter.com/mb4gszd1Qg

The impact that this dude had on many of the current crop of talent at the forefront of the industry is hard to measure.

In recent years, Amazing Red has been less active, competing in select matches for promotions like House Of Glory, GCW, Prestige Wrestling, and Wrestling REVOLVER. Red’s last stint with a major company occurred back in 2019, as he had a multi-month run with NJPW.
On the other side of things, Kevin Owens is currently out of action after undergoing neck surgery in July. Earlier this month, fans got excited after the multi-time world champion shared a video of himself working out at the WWE Performance Center.
