As previously reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Owens was scheduled to have his knee opened up to see if he needed minor or major knee surgery

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that WWE is hopeful that Owens will be back in late February or early March. Meltzer reports that Owens did not have full-blown reconstructive surgery on either knee.

WWE shot on angle on the Oct. 8 edition of Raw to explain Owens' absence where Bobby Lashley turned heel by attacking Owens after their one-on-one bout. During the attack, Lashley wrapped Owens' leg around the post multiple times.

Since the angle, Owens has once again gone dark on Twitter. The only other post on his timeline is a "peace" emoji, made the night after Lashley's attack.

Owens previously went dark on Twitter after "quitting" WWE for a week in August.
