Kiana James Discusses Helping With Language Barrier In Partnership With Giulia, Says Giulia Has Shared In-Ring Knowledge

James opens up about the partnership with Giulia.
In 2025, Kiana James came back to WWE television after being sidelined with a knee injury. She was paired with Giulia, and in the present day, the duo is on Friday Night SmackDown. Giulia is the current Women’s United States Champion.
TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast welcomed Kiana onto the show, and she spoke about the partnership with Giulia.
“Giulia and I have (an) understanding that this relationship is a working relationship, right? And she brings her strengths to the table, I have my strengths and we think that together, that that’s mutually beneficial so there are times where she has the spotlight, there are times that I have the spotlight. But we understand that we are just working towards building our brand together and that any one of us that has the spotlight is just building up our brand.”
She dove into what they both bring to their partnership. James spoke about being able to learn from Giulia’s in-ring knowledge, and James feels she’s been able to bridge the language barrier for Giulia.
“I mean, obviously, she’s a phenomenal in-ring competitor. She has so much knowledge that she’s been able to share with me as well. I mean, she came in and she captured gold on her own right away just coming into WWE. But I think a strength that I bring to the table, obviously, the language barrier is a little bit of a thing for her so being able to have that communication and then, this is a business, right? So, backstage, we have our General Manager, we have talent, we have locker room relationship. We have just everyone there and I think I’m able to kind of bridge that gap for her, so, we’ve been able to help each other in that way.”
Kiana James emerged victorious from a Triple Threat involving Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax to qualify for the women’s Elimination Chamber match. The full field includes James, Rhea Ripley, Tiffany Stratton, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Raquel Rodriguez.
