Kickoff Match Added To Taichi/NJPW Event On October 17th
A Kickoff bout has been added to the mix.
Coming up on October 17th is Taichi and New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s event at Taichi’s old middle school.
The latest addition to the match card is a Kickoff Show bout featuring Young Lions Masatora Yasuda and Ryoma Tsukamoto. NJPW wrote the following about the bout:
“Before the main pay-per-view action gets underway, Masatora Yasuda goes one-on-one with Ryoma Tsukamoto. A product of Just Tap Out, Tsukamoto was a part of a notable six-man tag bout at last year’s Ishikari school event, a six-man tag that turned incredibly heated, especially in exchanges with Yota Tsuji. Tsukamoto has been angling for a shot on this year’s card for quite some time, and at Korakuen Hall made a direct appeal to Taichi. The Holy Emperor had an opponent ready in Hokkaido native Masatora Yasuda, who will be looking to assert himself as the true leader of NJPW’s Young Lion guard with a victory against outsider opposition on the afternoon.”
Below is the updated match card for the show:
- Taichi & TBA vs. Naomichi Marufuji & TBA
- DDT Universal Championship: Ryusuke Taguchi (c) vs. Dick Togo
- Yuya Uemura vs. TBA
- Falls Count Anywhere on School Grounds: Toru Yano & El Desperado vs. Unbound Co. (Yuto-Ice & Gedo)
- Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) vs. Kumagoro Hokkai & TBA
- Kickoff Show: Masatora Yasuda vs. Ryoma Tsukamoto
