Kimber Lee says returning to independent wrestling was like a whirlwind.

"The last year of my life was like another whole world...getting to be a part of it and the people I got to learn from...like Norman Smiley, Johnny Saint was with us for six months that was out of control, Scotty 2 Hotty, Steve Corino...all of our coaches were fantastic," said Kimber Lee. "Getting to learn from them and all the promo work I got to do, all of those experiences I'd never got to have any other way. Ill treasure that for the rest of my life," she continued.

Her first match back on the independent wrestling circuit was against Tracy Williams at a Beyond Wrestling and Women's Wrestling Revolution event in Louisiana during WrestleMania week. Kimber Lee talked about her return to independent wrestling.

"Even with my first match being an intergender match which I hadn't been a part of in over a year, it was interesting to flip back into that switch, but it was like riding a bike you never forget. Like I've said every competitor should be treated as equal no matter what my chromosomes might say," said Kimber Lee. "It was a great experience, it was a whirlwind," she added.

At one point in the interview, she described how she felt walking into a recent Shimmer event and even mentioned how it smelled familiar. She also spoke of the comradery she has with the other wrestlers at Shimmer.
