King Corbin Recalls Bringing Thousands Of Dollars In Cash To NXT Promo Class Just To Irritate Everyone

King Corbin is one of the most hated men on WWE television. And his personality behind the scenes wasn't much different when he first started in wrestling. It's all by design as Corbin uses social media to generate more heat and isn't afraid to stir things up backstage.

Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Corbin revealed that he wants to respect the wrestling culture, but also can't help but to be himself.

Jinder Mahal Comments On His WWE Release, Says That He Still Has Many Goals And Dream Matches

"I wanted to figure out the culture. You don't want to disrespect anybody. I met with [Johnny Stamboli] and he walked me through from shaking hands to let everybody get their lockers, then put your bag down where it fits. But I'm also the kind of guy, I like to ruffle a little bit of feathers. I don't want to disrespect anybody, but I want to push those boundaries. I think I did that walking in the door. I irritated a few people just with some arrogance. Not disrespect. Roman pulled me aside at a show and said, 'Hey, you've got to do this, this, and this.' Those are the guys who know 'he can be successful and help us' but he also knows 'not everybody is going to like you," he said.

Corbin continued, recalling a story where he brought cash to NXT one day for a promo, just to anger his fellow superstars.

"The rumor went around that I was making all this money, more than anybody else. So I was like, 'Okay, let's add fuel to the fire.' I think I brought 10 or 20 grand, in cash, to a promo and was like, 'I'm going on a date tonight, two thousand, four thousand.' Just the worst thing ever, trying to irritate everybody."
