King Corbin Wasn't Aware Of Independent Training, Got His Information About WWE From Batista's Book

King Corbin has made a career on WWE television ripping those who came from the Independent scene. During his time in NXT, part of Corbin's character was to call out and feud with top Independent wrestlers who had made their way to NXT.

Corbin jumped straight from the NFL to the WWE Performance Center, skipping the Independent life that many came up on. But as Corbin admitted on WWE After The Bell, he didn't even know the world of Independent training existed before joining WWE.

"I wasn't aware there was this independent world of training. I thought it was Japan and OVW because I read Batista's book. I read his book in college and thought, 'I have to go to OVW if I want to get there.' That's how I got my information on becoming a WWE superstar; Batista's book. I don't feel cool admitting that," he said.

Corbin's on-screen lack of respect for the Independent scene has bled over to the world of social media, where he catches a lot of heat for his personality. Elsewhere during the interview, Corbin admitted that he uses social media as a way to generate more heat for himself. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
