Ahead of the bout, New Day member and former four-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston spoke with Jay Reddick of the Orlando Sentinel about chasing his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. Prior to Kofi emerging into the business, he was working the "cubicle life" and from the moment when Kofi got his first opportunity to get in the squared circle, he knew that was the life for him.

“As soon as I walked in, I looked at those two rings right there and I knew this was where I was supposed to be,” Kingston said. “That gym has a very particular essence, and I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it right now. …It was an epiphany moment. I knew I was going to give it my all and I knew it was going to work out.”

Also on tap for tonight's SmackDown Live is a tag team match featuring two of the women involved in the SummerSlam SmackDown Live Women's Championship match. To take a look at the updated lineup for the "Biggest Party Of The Summer", click here.
