Kofi Kingston is an elder statesman in WWE and has done just about everything there is to do in the company, bringing a perspective that very few backstage can offer.
Being a veteran in the locker room, Kingston welcomes anyone who seeks advice from him.
"You can't make me old, I just am old," Kingston joked in an interview with Jon Chuckery. "It is what it is, I'm happy to have made it this far, a lot of people don't make it this far and I feel like I'm 2022 and I still wear a lot of bright colors. The other day I wore a Spongebob Squarepants outfit. I don't know if I'm four or I'm 40. It's one, the other, or somewhere in-between. As far as the role backstage, I've always been one to offer advice if people are looking for it. I've been around and have gotten a lot of experience, but we have a lot of people who are incredibly talented. I just try to bring whatever I can to the table in terms of general guidance, if that is asked of me. When I was younger, there were a lot of people who were older who would force their advice on people, regardless if you asked for it or not. I do not want to do that. I don't want to be that guy. I'm always an open book for anybody who has any kind of questions, I try to answer them."
Kingston and his New Day running mate Xavier Woods are going for another reign with the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships on Saturday at WWE Day 1 when they face The Usos.
