Kofi shines the light on others in his moment.
Earlier this week it was announced that one-third of the current SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions, The New Day's Kofi Kingston locked his spot in for the foreseeable future in the WWE history books. Kofi is now the all-time leader for combined days as a Tag Team Champion in WWE. On Tuesday when the stat was released, Kofi was sitting at 954 days which was one day ahead of Billy Gunn's record of 953 days.
Kofi has held tag team gold with Matt Sydal, R-Truth, CM Punk and of course his New Day brethren on a plethora of occasions. ESPN recently put together a piece about Kofi's historic tag team title record and that piece featured comments from the man himself and Kofi shared his thoughts on each of the individuals who he has been at the top of the tag team mountain with.
Kofi on Matt Sydal: "The best athletically out of him and was doing things nobody had done before."
Kofi On CM Punk: "I learned so much from him," Kingston said about Punk. "Learned so much about what it takes to be a star."
Kofi On R-Truth: "Me and Truth always had a good time out there," Kingston remembered of their five-month reign.
Kofi On Big E & Xavier Woods: "We had to fight to get that goal, and fight to keep it."
