Kofi Kingston: Sometimes I Forget How Big A Reach WWE Has

Kofi Kingston discusses his trip to Ghana.

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston returned to his homeland of Ghana this past weekend, soaking in his time with family, friends, and fans. You can find videos documenting Kofi's return over at WWE's YouTube page. TMZ Sports caught up with Kingston following his trip and asked how much influence and reach WWE has in Ghana.

Wes Lee: Still Uncertain When Everything Will Be Firing Properly With My Body, But The Mind Is Strong

"It's surprisingly very big. People are well-versed with what's going on in WWE. My mom had the bus that I traveled in plastered with my face on it. Everywhere that we were driving people were like 'Oh! Kofi Kingston!' So they knew," recalled Kingston. "I met somebody at the airport that had WWE Network. Sometimes I forget how big of a reach [WWE] has. We're always aware that we're reaching a lot of people but we don't really realize how wide that grasp is until you go to somewhere like Ghana and you see everyone with their cell phones up and they are trying to take pictures and show how excited they are. It's heartwarming to be welcome in that shape and form."

Kingston is set to defend the WWE Title against Dolph Ziggler this Friday at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia.
